Notice
of Second Canada Post Rate Change
|
Effective February 23, 2009
As
you know, on January 12, 2009, Canada Post
increased its postal rates.
~
To accommodate the new rates, your FP postage
meter connected to our server and
was updated
with the new rates, ready for you
to use on January 12, 2009.
~ Due to delays in the
government approval process, Canada Post was
unable to get
approval on its
Domestic Oversize Lettermail and Incentive
Lettermail products.
~ Subsequently, on the 7th
of January 2009, Canada Post was granted
approval to increase
its
Domestic Oversize and Incentive
Lettermail rates with an effective date of
the 23rd
of February 2009.
~ It is very important that
you update your postage meter with the new
Canada Oversize
Lettermail
postage rates which is now available
on our Teleset server. If you do not
update your
meter by February 23, 2009, you
will face the risk of a returned mail
due
to
insufficient postage.
How to download the postal rates !
You have two options to download the new
rates.
1.
Between
January 19 and February 20, any regular
postage download that
you perform will also update your meter rate
table.
2.
If
you do not need to add postage to your meter
during that period, simply
run a $0 postage download.
Using either method, your postage meter will
download and automatically activate
the new rates on Monday February 23, 2009.

the last minute rush and possible busy modem
lines. Download the new rates NOW!
How
postal rate changes effect your postage meter
Through
its computerized intelligence, your
Francotyp-Postalia postage meter will
automatically download the new postal rates as
part of the normal Teleset postage download
process.
As
we approach the rate change implementation
date, your postage meter may prompt you to
make periodic connections to our server by
running a Teleset transaction. The Optimail
may also display messages Postage Low or
Security device has incorrect state.
Run
the Teleset procedure as you normally would;
you may either download postage or perform a
zero dollar download if you do not require
postage for the time being. Please consult
your Operator Manual index under Teleset,
Loading Postage or click

that the model name appears near the meter
display window).
